Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf: Violin Concerto in G major
1. Allegro moderato
2. Adagio
3. Presto
Wolfgang Marschner, *1926 in Dresden, violin
Rundfunkorchester Hannover des NDR / Willy Steiner
Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf (2 November 1739 – 24 October 1799) was an Austrian composer, violinist and silvologist. Someone who loves music AND the forest simply must be worth listening to. Besides, noscitur ex sociis. Not a bad thing if your sociis are such illustrious individuals as Haydn, Mozart and Wanhal.
Did I mention that my husband and I are learning violin? It’s not an easy instrument — that’s what I’ve learned so far. Actually I’m getting fairly good at playing the open strings. It’s just all the rest of the notes I have trouble with LOL! As always, thanks for the lovely Sunday morning classical concert.

One really gets to appreciate how well some people play an instrument if one tries to play it as well… It takes a lot of patience with oneself, I guess. Enjoy, and thank you for stopping by.

Always a pleasure. For some reason WordPress keeps “unfollowing” me from blogs, so I clicked “Follow” again. Even if WP doesn’t count me as a follower, I always make it a point to drop by on Sundays for a little classical concert. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful music with others.
