Classical Sunday: Vivaldi’s Summer

Something short so you can go back outside soon.

The first month of summer has begun, and in order not to keep you in the house longer than necessary, we chose a short piece for today, performed by Julia Fisher.  Enjoy!

Classical Sunday: Boccherini’s Complete Cello Concertos

Luigi Boccherini’s style is characterized by Rococo charm, lightness, and optimism, and exhibits much melodic and rhythmic invention, coupled with frequent influences from the guitar tradition of his adopted country, Spain.

Something light for the first Sunday in October.

Luigi Boccherini (1743 – 1805) had a great affinity with the cello.  Each of the 12 concertos is a musical gem, well-suited for the instrument, delightfully light-hearted.  The Italian performers provide a sunny listening experience.
